Three Month Update

Sunday, February 5th, 2006 at 11:00 pm

mooWe’re almost at the three month mark now, and for the most part, we’re starting to settle into a groove. We’re sleeping better than a lot of parents we know and the breast-feeding is much improved. The fussiness is still there, but it’s gotten more predictable. Not to say that we’ve deciphered the precise meaning of every cry and whimper, but we’re definitely getting better at figuring out what the little guy wants…which is usually “feed me,” “change me,” “nap me,” or “hold me up straight so I can pass some gas.”

We realized that some of the recent fussiness has been caused by his two bottom front teeth which our doctor pointed out have already broken through the gums. Huh? I thought teeth didn’t start breaking through till the six month mark.

As of last week, Miles is weighing in at 15.9 lbs and measuring 26″ tall. He’s added some new sounds to his repertoire, which are remarkably similar to our cat’s meows. He’s not big on tummy-time yet and doesn’t seem to be interested in crawling. Although he’s fascinated by his hands (mostly the way they taste), he’s not big on batting at objects yet, and rarely grabs at things that aren’t mommy’s breasts.
